The Global Food Security Index considers the core issues of affordability, availability, and quality across a set of 113 countries. The index is a dynamic quantitative and qualitative benchmarking model, constructed from 28 unique indicators, that measures these drivers of food security across both developing and developed countries. This index is the first to examine food security comprehensively across the three internationally established dimensions. Moreover, the study looks beyond hunger to the underlying factors affecting food insecurity.

Cécile Duflot, France’s former housing minister, remembers the day she stood up to speak in the National Assembly in 2012 and was greeted by wolf whistles because she was wearing a dress.
“I felt irritated, and shame for the chamber,” she says. “Such a thing had never happened to me in the whole of my professional life before becoming a deputy.”
“But that’s nothing compared to the events of the last few days,” she adds.
A deputy parliamentary speaker from Duflot’s ecologist party, Denis Baupin, was forced to resign on May 9, after eight women from the same party came forward to accuse him of sexual harassment. The Paris prosecutor is now conducting an investigation, while Baupin is suing France-Inter radio and the news website Mediapart for defamation after they published details of the allegations.

“The Heart of Everything – Jungle Mamams: Changemakers in the Amazon” is a documentary about Pachamama Alliance's Jungle Mamas program to reduce maternal and neonatal death in Achuar territory in the Amazon rainforest. This documentary was produced in partnership with Girls Thinking Global and it features the story behind what made Jungle Mamas possible in addition to how the program is successfully working today to reach the Achuar population of Ecuador (7,000) by training community maternal health promoters.

"WHEREAS
1. Respect for human rights is a founding value for the Union, as stated in the Treaty on European Union and in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
2. It is important to promote common values, such as respect for human rights, as well as a common understanding that human rights are universal and apply to all.
3. The Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) provides that the Union shall aim in all its activities to eliminate inequalities and to combat discrimination on various grounds, including sex and sexual orientation, when defining and implementing its policies and activities[1] and empowers the Council to take action to combat discrimination on those grounds.[2]
