As the global community is witnessing an unprecedented level of human mobility, the issue of safety and dignity for refugees and migrants will take center stage at the UN General Assembly, as it starts its 71st Session. Gathering leaders from around the world, the upcoming session commencing on 13 September, will also feature events to mark the one year anniversary of the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, meetings of the High-level Panel on Water, the SDG Advocates and more.
Under the leadership of its new President Peter Thomson, Permanent Representative of Fiji, the General Assembly will hone in on a large number of agenda items featured under overarching themes including on the promotion of sustained economic growth and sustainable development, maintenance of international peace and security, development of Africa, promotion of human rights and the effective coordination of humanitarian assistance efforts.

At last year’s United Nations summit on sustainable development, world leaders vowed to provide “free, equitable, and quality” primary education for all children, by 2030. But for millions of kids, it will not come in time—and probably not even in the next 50 years.

The success of women in Olympic sports can be tied to the opportunities available in their home countries. Women won more total medals than men in 29 countries that participated in the 2016 Rio Games and at least one other Summer Olympics.
American men won more medals than American women for much of the history of the Olympics, but that gap began to narrow in the 1980s. A decade before, in 1972, the federal government had granted women equal access to sports through the education amendment known as Title IX. Women surpassed men in the Summer Games medal count for the first time at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
In China, that feat came 20 years earlier. Women in China have performed better than men in their events at the Olympics since 1988, bringing home about 10 more medals each time.

Со ребалансот, по кој собраниската комисиска расправа почна на 30 август, се предлага обезбедување дополнителни 36,4 милиони евра за целосно обесштетување на поплавените.
Приходите во Буџетот се непроменети и остануваат на ниво на проекцијата од 174.291 милион денари. Расходите се зголемуваат од 195.472 милиони денари на 197.410 милиони денари, а се зголемува и буџетскиот дефицит од 3,6 на 4 проценти и ќе изнесува 23.119 милион денари, наместо 21.181 милион денари.

Стопанската комора на Македонија континуирано следејќи ги движењата во стопанството, а поаѓајќи од актуелните состојби во земјата, во два наврата досега (април и мај 2016 година) спроведе анкетни истражувања меѓу своите членки, во насока на дефинирање на проблемите со кои моментално се соочуваат компаниите и кои влијаат на условите за стопанисување. Од овие истражувања меѓу компаниите, генерално можеше да се констатира дека во голема мера проблемите кои се јавуваат во тековното работење не се резултат само на моменталните состојби во земјата, туку најголемиот дел од нив се проблеми што континуирано се провлекуваат веќе подолг период, а сега само е поизразена нивната тежина. Со цел согледување на моменталните движења и состојби, спроведено е и трето анкетно истражување во месец август 2016 година, а во врска со повратот на ДДВ, наплатата на побарувањата и ликвидноста, на кое е добиен одговор од околу 800 компании од различни стопански сектори, истакна Билјана Пеева-Ѓуриќ, директор во Стопанската комора на Македонија, на прес-конференцијата (5 септември 2016 година).
