April 01, 2020 - Although there is a great deal of public interest in ensuring more women become leaders, thereby reversing their under-representation in the ranks of power, too many suggested solutions are founded on the misconception that women ought to emulate men. The thinking is: “If men have most of the top roles, they must be doing something right, so why not get women to act like them?”
But this logic fails to account for the relatively dismal performance of most leaders — who are overwhelmingly male. As we have argued before, the real problem is not a lack of competent females; it is too few obstacles for incompetent males, which explains the surplus of overconfident, narcissistic, and unethical people in charge.
As a consequence, gender differences in leadership effectiveness (what it takes to perform well) are out of sync with gender differences in leadership emergence (what it takes to make it to the top). Indeed, research shows that the prevalence of male senior leaders is not a product of superior leadership talent in men. Rather, large quantitative studies, including meta-analyses, indicate that gender differences in leadership talent are either nonexistent, or they actually favor women.
Уставниот суд на 14-та седница одржана на 14.5.2020 година донесе одлука за укинување на Законот за спречување и заштита од дискриминација. Ваквата одлука на Уставниот суд доаѓа по иницијативата на претходниот состав на Комисијата за заштита од дискриминација за оценка на уставноста и законитоста на Законот, во која беше наведено дека оспорениот закон бил донесен спротивно на чл. 75 од Уставот на Република Северна Македонија, односно не било обезбедено потребното уставно мнозинство за повторно изгласување на Законот. Имено, Законот на 11.3.2019 година беше усвоен со вкупно 51 глас од вкупниот број на пратеници. Вака усвоениот Закон беше доставен до тогашниот претседател, Ѓорѓе Иванов за потпишување на указот, но бидејќи истиот не беше потпишан од претседателот поради името, повторно беше вратен во Собранието. Оспорениот Закон беше ставен повторно на дневен ред на 16.5.2019 година и врз основа на член 75 од Уставот Собранието повторно го разгледуваше. Законот истиот ден беше изгласан со 55 гласа, со што Законот се усвои без потребното уставно мнозинство од 61 глас.
Собранието на Република Северна Македонија со необезбедувањето на потребното уставно мнозинство за изгласување и усвојување на Законот за спречување и заштита од дискриминација уште еднаш потврди дека потребите на најранливите и најмаргинализираните категории граѓани не се важни, нити вредни за заштита. Одговорноста за пропустите во постапката ја лоцираме кај Собранието, особено владеачкото мнозинство чија предизборна кампања се засноваше на идејата за еднаквост, претседателот на Собранието, Талат Џафери и претстедателот на РСМ, Стево Пендаровски, кои знаеле или морале да знаат дека законот треба да се изгласа со 61 глас.

But the UK-based WaterAid and UN Habitat in Nairobi point out the paradox in at least two of the warnings: a staggering 3.0 billion people worldwide have no water to wash their hands and over 1.8 billion people have no adequate shelter—or homes to go to.
The deadly coronavirus pandemic has undermined the UN’s battle against extreme poverty and hunger, and upended its longstanding campaign for “water and sanitation for all” and shelter for the homeless -– all of which are an integral part of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
