1 August 2017 - Despite the considerable progress that has been made towards achieving gender equality in the world of work, certain factors seem to be preventing it from accelerating.
Gender gaps are one of the most pressing challenges facing the world of work today. Globally, women are substantially less likely than men to participate in the labour market, and once in the workforce, they are also less likely to find jobs than men. Indeed, their access to quality employment opportunities remains restricted. Overall, for example, women are more likely to work longer hours than men when both paid and unpaid work is taken into account. Moreover, when in paid employment, on average, women work fewer hours for pay or profit either because they opt to work part-time or because part-time work is the only option available to them.
These gender gaps persist despite the preference of most women worldwide to work in a paid job – underlining the fact that women’s choices are constrained by a number of factors.
This Report provides food security population estimates for countries selected on the basis of the degree of risk of facing acute food crises in 2016 and beyond. In addition, a detailed food security analysis is presented for those countries and/or population groups facing high severity and magnitude of acute food insecurity based on classification.
Conflict & Food Insecurity
The negative impact of conflict on food security, nutrition and agriculture is an uncontested and globally recognized phenomenon. Conflict is a leading cause of food insecurity and hunger in several parts of the world, undermining food security in multiple ways and creating access problems for governments and humanitarian agencies who often struggle to reach those most in need.
This brief provides feminist and gender justice advocates with initial analysis and reflection, to understand Illicit financial flows, the context in which they operate and their social and gendered impact.
We grapple with the fact that economic and financial policies, including those that sustain IFFs, are never gender neutral, rather they are tools to sustain and increase the power of global elites.
Demanding transparency and corporate accountability
This brief is a tool for gender justice activists to advocate for stricter financial regulation, and an end to corporate privileges that are detrimental to people and planet. It also offers initial policy recommendations to support feminist and gender justice organizations, as well as policy-makers, in influencing relevant decision-making spaces or to potentially complement and deepen the already existing engagement and positions.

Граѓанскиот буџет не е замена за деталниот Буџет на државата, туку претставува приказ преку кој секој граѓанин во рок од пет минути може да ги дознае плановите за управување со јавните финансии.
- Граѓанскиот буџет е една од алатките со кои Министерството за финансии ја отвора транспарентноста и отчетноста на јавните финансии. Ние сметаме дека целосниот увид на јавноста во тоа како се трошат парите на граѓаните е важен чекор напред во спречување на злоупотребите од страна на носителите на власта. Истовремено, нашата намера е преку зголемување на информираноста на јавноста да влијаеме на посилно вклучување на граѓаните во креирање на владините програми и политики – вели во предговорот министерот за финансии Драган Тевдовски.
Следниот Граѓански буџет ќе се објави со Предлог-буџетот за 2018 година и изработката на овој документ ќе стане пракса и во иднина.
Буџетот го финансираат граѓаните и фирмите и тие се негови директни и индиректни корисници. Буџетот е од граѓаните – за граѓаните, затоа секој треба да има пристап и увид во него.
